One-of-a-Kind Valentine's Bouquets

For many people, Valentine’s Day is a great holiday to create Crafts and DIY decorations. You may be someone who wants to create something but you don’t know where to start. With a little forethought and a few supplies, you can be started in no time! This month we decided to focus on YARN! Here are two fun yarn centered crafts to get you going!

Yarn-Wrapped Heart

This adorable heart-shaped craft doubles as holiday decor and takes just 5 minutes to make.

  1. Cut out a heart shape from a piece of cardboard.

  2. Tape the end of a yarn spool to the back of your heart.

  3. Wrap yarn around the heart until the cardboard is all covered.

  4. Cut off the yarn, loop the loose end through another piece of yarn, and tie it.

  5. And OF COURSE, add some beautiful red rose accents!!

Yarn Valentine’s Day Flowers

Real flower prices always skyrocket on Valentine's Day, but you can make a custom, one-of-a-kind bouquet that will never wilt and is much more affordable...

Here's the how-to:

1. Wrap yarn around 4 of your fingers. 2. When you get an amount that would create your desired fullness, pull the yarn off your hand and tie it around the middle- then clip the loops on the ends and shake it out. 3. Put a little bit of hot glue on the end of a thin twig and insert into the pom-pom's center. Hold in place until the glue dries (about 10 seconds).

Repeat as many times as you'd like, then arrange in a Mason jar or a vase along with your favorite faux pink, red and white flowers from Martin's!!
